Buraco do Galego: the natural pool that became a symbol of Noronha

Buraco do Galego is a natural pool carved into the volcanic rocks of Praia do Cachorro, on the Mar de Dentro (inner sea) side of Fernando de Noronha. It became one of the most photographed spots on the island — and one of the most shared on social media — when its crystal-clear, turquoise water became impossible to ignore.

Morro de Fora is open
While Buraco do Galego remains closed, Morro de Fora — the third natural pool in the same circuit — is fully open and operational. It offers two pools, incredible volcanic scenery and a visit that can be done on foot along the trail or by swimming, depending on sea conditions.
